CAT 6 is rated for Gigabit speeds, however all equipment running on the network should support Gigabit speeds otherwise the network will run at the speed of the slowest device
on the network.
The major difference between CAT5e and CAT6 is the transmission speed, CAT6 is certified to handle Gigabit speeds.
With the increased usage of media applications, increased data usage we highly reccommend utilising CAT 6 as it will be futureproof
as the demand for bandwith goes up.
